Wagner wins
Wagner defeated his younger brother Samuel Wagner in the ninth annual John Helm Memorial USAC Wholesale Batteries MRA Sprint Car season finale at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri. The feature was scheduled for 25 laps, and Samuel controlled the first 14 before Wagner took the lead. The family battle ended with Wagner’s race win, adding to a season that had already put him in position to secure the championship.
Wagner championship
The win gave Wagner his first MRA title and put the finishing touch on a season built on victories. He ended the year with seven wins in 12 starts. He also recorded 11 podium finishes in 12 feature starts. The victory capped his championship season.
Howard podium
Behind the Wagner brothers, Chase Howard finished third and earned Hard Charger honors after climbing from 10th on the starting grid. Braydon Cromwell took fourth despite dealing with a throttle problem. Luke Howard rounded out the top five in fifth. Jack Wagner’s win remained the story of the night. He beat his brother, wrapped up the race, and left Valley Speedway with both the feature victory and the first MRA championship of his career.
