Now, less than a week later, BKFC heads to the Heartland for Fight Night Omaha this Friday, May 17th. The Liberty First Arena will play host to an action-packed card headlined by surging welterweights Carlos Trinidad-Snake and Dustin Pague. BKFC Fight Night Omaha is poised to deliver another memorable night of bare knuckle action. Let’s break down the odds and key storylines for each main card and undercard bout.

Carlos Trinidad-Snake vs. Dustin Pague: The welterweight main event between Carlos Trinidad-Snake (-195) and Dustin Pague (+144) pits two surging contenders against each other. Trinidad-Snake’s pristine 4-0 record and 75% finish rate give him the edge on paper. The 27-year-old excels at staying defensively responsible while uncorking precise power shots. However, the savvy veteran Pague has proven his mettle in the BKFC Squared Circle. The Pennsylvania native’s only loss came against Elvin Brito, who just fought for the title. Pague’s experience, grappling skills and underrated striking could enable him to drag Trinidad-Snake into deep waters. Still, Trinidad-Snake’s speed, technique and nasty knockout power should be enough to secure him a late stoppage. He’ll patiently pick his spots early before unloading fight-altering shots down the stretch. The -195 price is playable on an uber-talented rising star.

Dakota Cochrane vs. Jeremie Holloway: In the co-main event, submission wizard Dakota Cochrane (-115) takes on knockout artist Jeremie Holloway (-115) in a pick’em. Cochrane, a 38-fight MMA vet, has adapted beautifully to bare knuckle with consecutive KO wins. However, the wear and tear of a long career showed in fading efforts against elite middleweights Lorenzo Hunt and Bubba McDaniel. Holloway is 11 years younger and has fight-changing power in both hands. If the Brooklyn native can maintain a pressuring, come-forward style, he could overwhelm Cochrane late. In a 50/50 matchup, side with the younger, fresher and harder-hitting Holloway at an enticing -115 tag.

Sean Wilson vs. Emeka Ifekandu: Next, Omaha fan favorite Sean Wilson (+127) looks to defend his home turf against the favored Emeka Ifekandu (-170). The well-traveled Wilson has a staggering 71 pro MMA fights, exhibiting a reliable chin and deep gas tank. He excels at turning bouts into drawn-out wars of attrition. Ifekandu is the sharper, faster striker who should edge exchanges early. The Nigeria native’s movement and evasiveness will give Wilson fits. But as the fight progresses, look for Wilson to dig deep and rally late. He’s incredibly opportunistic in close quarters and will capitalize if Ifekandu fades. At +127, Wilson is well worth a play in what should be a thrilling brawl.

Alonzo Martinez vs. Stanislav Grosu: The welterweight clash between Alonzo Martinez (-146) and Stanislav Grosu (+110) is a classic striker vs. grappler matchup. Grosu is a high-level Muay Thai practitioner with excellent counters and thudding low kicks. However, the Moldova native has faltered against skilled grapplers. That’s where Martinez, a 47-fight MMA vet, could capitalize. The Omaha product is a wrestling-based pressure fighter with an endless gas tank. Look for Martinez to work takedowns and unleash punishing dirt boxing. He simply has more avenues to victory, making him a strong straight play at -146.

Bobby Taylor vs. Ryan Roberts: In lightweight action, heavy-handed Bobby Taylor (-187) meets the explosive Ryan Roberts (+139). The 45-year-old Taylor has serious pop, but he’s also hittable and slowing down. This feels like a “passing of the torch” fight, as the younger, faster Roberts pushes a frenetic pace. “Are You Ready” is an ironic nickname, as Taylor may not be ready for the intense swarm coming his way. Take a shot on Roberts via late stoppage at +139.

Ryan Braun vs. Corey McIntosh: At heavyweight, hard-hitting Ryan Braun (-185) welcomes Corey McIntosh (+140) to the BKFC ring. The 6’5″ Braun owns a huge reach and power edge over the squat 5’10” McIntosh. He’ll need to manage distance and unload his signature bombs from the outside. McIntosh is durable and well-rounded, but a bit overmatched here. Lay the reasonable -185 price on Braun to remain perfect via clear-cut decision.

Tommy Strydom vs. Corey Roberts: The main card opens with a featherweight firefight between Tommy Strydom (-229) and Corey Roberts (+167). The South African Strydom is a physical specimen, with blazing hand speed and brick-breaking power. If he can cut off the ring and unload combinations, a brutal KO is well within reach. However, Roberts is a scrappy veteran with serious toughness and underrated skills. At +167, he’s a live dog capable of extending Strydom rounds he’s never seen before. Proceed with caution on the heavy favorite.

Nate Morrow vs. Josh Krejci: The prelims are headlined by a surprisingly competitive featherweight bout between Nate Morrow (-180) and Josh Krejci (+134). Morrow has been installed as a sizable favorite thanks to his pro MMA experience and 100% finish rate. However, Krejci is a handful for any 145lber, with his relentless pressure and deep gas tank always making him live. Morrow should still emerge victorious, but the wide odds make Krejci an intriguing underdog dart throw at +134.

Kassius Kayne vs. Dioniso Ramirez: Next, debuting welterweights clash as Kassius Kayne (-106) meets Dioniso Ramirez (-125). Kayne is a proven finisher, with most of his wins coming via knockout. But his 12-8 MMA record raises some red flags, as he’s proven vulnerable against opponents who can extend him rounds. That’s where Ramirez could capitalize, as the more well-rounded and durable fighter. Neither man has competed in bare knuckle before though, so this feels like a dog-or-pass situation.

Eduardo Peralta vs. Brandon Meyer: In lightweight action, the gritty Eduardo Peralta (-160) looks to rebound from back-to-back losses against Brandon Meyer (+120). Peralta always comes to scrap, but his high-volume brawling style has led to him absorbing serious damage. Meyer is a defensively responsible boxer who operates well off the back foot. If he can manage distance and counter effectively, the unheralded Meyer is very live as a +120 underdog.

Expert Pick for BKFC Fight Night Omaha

Carlos Trinidad-Snake is the best straight play on the card. At 4-0 with 3 KOs, the talented welterweight has the pinpoint striking and fight-ending power to be a future champion. He’ll face his toughest test yet against the crafty Dustin Pague, but the 27-year-old is poised for a breakout performance.

Laying -195 on a young fighter in a main event is always risky. But Trinidad-Snake’s diverse kickboxing skills and athletic advantages make him worth the price. Expect “Uzumaki” to weather some early adversity before scoring a late stoppage win. It’s the type of statement-making victory that could vault him into title contention.
