The sold-out OCC Road House & Museum in Clearwater, FL was rocking last Friday as BKFC delivered another thrilling night of bare-knuckle action. In the main event, former BKFC World Champion Mike “The Marine” Richman made a triumphant return, stopping the always-game Erick Lozano in the 5th round of a light heavyweight war. The co-main saw Elvin “El Bandido” Brito score a shocking 40-second TKO over previously undefeated Ja’Far “Knox” Fortt. With highlight reel finishes up and down the card, BKFC Fight Night Clearwater set the stage perfectly for the promotion’s biggest event of the year.

Knucklemania IV, the most anticipated bare-knuckle event of 2024, is set for April 27th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The card features a main event clash between undefeated “King of Violence” Mike Perry and former champion Thiago Alves, while the co-main showcases Lorenzo Hunt’s bid to become BKFC’s first three-division titleholder against heavyweight king Mick Terrill. Mike Perry (-157) vs Thiago Alves (+118): Knucklemania IV’s main event features a mouth-watering clash between two of BKFC’s biggest stars. Mike Perry has looked unstoppable since entering the bare-knuckle realm, mauling his way to a 4-0 record with 3 KOs. The “King of Violence” has dispatched a host of big names, showcasing vicious knockout power, an iron chin, and relentless pressure.

Standing across from Perry is a true martial arts legend in Thiago Alves. The inaugural BKFC middleweight champ is 2-0 since capturing gold, marrying his world-class striking with gritty toughness. Alves’ precise Muay Thai combinations and veteran savvy pose a fascinating style clash for the forward-charging Perry. With so little separating these two men, the +118 price on Alves is mighty tempting. The Brazilian will need to weather an early storm, but his technical acumen and 5-round experience could prove crucial down the stretch. In a pick’em fight, the value lies with the underdog Alves.

Mick Terrill (-179) vs Lorenzo Hunt (+134): The co-main event sees BKFC heavyweight champion Mick Terrill attempt to defend his crown against pound-for-pound #1, Lorenzo “The Juggernaut” Hunt. Terrill has been flawless since dethroning Arnold Adams for the strap, running his BKFC record to 3-1, with all 3 wins coming by stoppage. The 6’3″, 270-pound Brit has a rare combination of size, power and hand speed that overwhelms opponents.

Hunt represents Terrill’s stiffest test to date. The current cruiserweight and light heavyweight champ is an absurd 11-1 in the BKFC, with a record 5 title defenses at 205 pounds. Hunt’s relentless pressure and thudding hooks have proven too much for a murderer’s row of contenders.

The betting line reflects the competitiveness of this matchup. Hunt’s BKFC track record is beyond reproach, but he’s never faced a big man like Terrill. The challenger’s ability to slip inside and smother the champ early could prove crucial. If Terrill can keep the fight at range, his size may simply be too much for the smaller Hunt to overcome.

Ben Rothwell (-468) vs Todd Duffee (+307): Former UFC heavyweights Ben Rothwell and Todd Duffee will finally throw down after their initial BKFC matchup fell through. Rothwell has taken to bare knuckle like a fish to water, demolishing both his opponents by KO. The Kenosha, Wisconsin native’s legendary durability and phone-booth power seem perfectly suited for the sport.

Opposing him is fellow Octagon alum Todd Duffee. A dangerous puncher in his own right, Duffee has been plagued by inactivity, competing just once in the last 8 years. Even more worrying is his questionable ability to absorb damage, a flaw Rothwell will surely target. The heavy -468 price tag on Rothwell feels justified here. Duffee’s long odds reflect the rust and wear-and-tear accumulated over his 15 years in combat sports. Rothwell’s edge in activity and grueling clinch game should provide the avenues to end this one early.

Jeremiah Riggs (-163) vs Alfredo Angulo (+122): BKFC mainstay Riggs welcomes former boxing champ Angulo to the Squared Circle. Riggs, fresh off a highlight-reel KO in his last outing, has promised another action-packed affair. But Angulo’s high-level boxing pedigree and thudding power make him a fascinating BKFC debutant. If the Mexican can maintain range, his +122 underdog line will hold value.

Crystal Pittman (-406) vs Claudia Zamora (+274): Rising star Pittman guns for her 3rd win in 4 outings against Zamora. The hard-hitting Pittman has shown steady improvement since her 2021 debut, sharpening her diverse striking arsenal. She’ll need to be firing on all cylinders against the rangy Zamora, who holds 2-inch height and reach advantages. The ex-MMA fighter’s length makes her live at +274, but Pittman’s pressure and experience should be enough to notch the W.

Julian Lane (-143) vs Evgeny Kurdanov (+107): Fan-favorite Lane aims to rebound from a loss against heavy-handed Kurdanov. With Lane’s relentless style and Kurdanov’s stopping power, this one has Fight of the Night potential. Lane’s wealth of BKFC experience gives him the slight edge, but the Russian’s pop makes him a solid underdog play at +107.

Ruben Warr (-179) vs Andrew Angelcor (+134): Rising prospects Warr and Angelcor jockey for position at 155 pounds. Warr looked sensational in his BKFC debut last month, notching a first-round stoppage. He’ll aim to replicate that success against the undefeated Angelcor, who’s passed every test thus far in the Squared Circle. Warr’s superior pressure likely earns him the nod, but Angelcor’s technical skills make him a worthwhile dart throw at +134.

David Diaz (-179) vs Shane Jordan (+134): BKFC newcomers Diaz and Jordan kick off the main card. Diaz, the more proven fighter, prefers a pressure game and close-quarters fighting. Jordan’s length and jab provide a path to control range and score points. Diaz’s power and aggression make him a justifiable favorite, but Jordan’s style poses real problems if he can maintain distance and avoid a brawl.

Fernando Gonzalez (-229) vs Vincent Familari (+167): Bellator vet Gonzalez lost his BKFC debut, but rebounded nicely with a Decision-2 win over Kees Verkerke in Japan. He’ll have a major edge in experience over BKFC-debuting amateur sanshou champion Familari. Side with Gonzalez to get the W, but this could be closer than the odds indicate.

Tommy Aaron (-406) vs Richard Brooks (+274): 21-year old phenom Aaron has looked spectacular in his 2 BKFC appearances, knocking out Zach Pannell and Theo Corbin inside the distance. He takes a step up against 13-fight MMA vet Richard Brooks. The Brit is skilled, but will be giving up height, reach and power to the much younger Aaron. Expect another early finish for the surging prospect.

Keith Richardson (-240) vs Cody Vidal (+175):  Keith Richardson has been a handful at 205 pounds, with his lone loss coming to champ Lorenzo Hunt. He welcomes Tampa slugger Cody Vidal to the BKFC. Vidal’s kill-or-be-killed style should mesh well with Richardson’s pressure, making this a potential barn-burner. The betting line looks about right though, as Richardson’s proven ability to implement his smothering game should win out.

Expert Pick for BKFC Knucklemania IV

The main event between Mike Perry and Thiago Alves is a true coin flip. Both men possess fight-ending power and proven bare-knuckle acumen. However, digging deeper reveals some key factors working in the underdog’s favor. Most crucial is Perry’s questionable cardio. The “King of Violence” slowed down considerably in the middle rounds of brawls with Julian Lane and Michael Page. Against a seasoned vet like Thiago Alves, that’s a recipe for disaster. The Brazilian’s precise Muay Thai and underrated wrestling could easily draw Perry into a grueling affair. At plus money, Alves is the value side in what should be a back-and-forth war.
