Schedule and How to Watch the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
The F1 starting lights are ready to go out for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix starting Friday, April 18th, 2025. Drivers leave the box for the first time on Friday at 9:30 AM ET for P1, igniting the fifth edition of the Jeddah leg. Racing shifts gears on Saturday, when drivers return to the pit lanes for the third and final practice session at 9:30 AM ET, before qualifying accelerates off the line at 1 PM on the East Coast.
All the practice sessions and qualifying build up to the main event on Sunday, April 20th at 1 PM ET, when the grid lines up. We wait to see if Max Verstappen can defend his title and become the first driver to win three races in “The Land of the Two Holy Mosques.” ESPN 2 is scheduled to broadcast the practice sessions and Grand Prix, while ESPN 3 will deliver the qualifying showdown.
Weather Forecast for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
Clear skies, hot temperatures, and moderately high humidity prepare to greet the F1 contingent in Jeddah. Humidity is expected to push into the high 60s on Friday, before dropping into the mid-50s percentile for qualifying and the showdown on Sunday. The local weather bureau suggests temperatures will remain high into the evenings, with the mid-80s on the cards for the final two days of racing.
What is F1 DFS Betting
Formula 1 Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) gives you a chance to win if your drivers and constructor return more points than other players’ picks. You pick five drivers (one is designated as your captain), and a constructor’s team. Points are assigned to each driver based on how they finish, fastest laps, laps led, and starting grid position. The captain receives double the amount of points.
All points count towards your total, and the player with the highest points tally at the checkered flag wins the pot.

Oscar Piastri (+126) Oscar Piastri started 2025 as the McLaren number two, but he lines up in Jeddah only three points shy of his teammate in the Championship. The Australian has won 50% of the races this season and only finished off the podium at his home Grand Prix. Piastri was dominant in Bahrain, controlling the race from the lights and taking the checkered flag 15.499 seconds ahead of George Russell.
Lando Norris (+144) Lando Norris gave McLaren a double podium in Bahrain, but the Briton was far from his best, crossing the line over 16 seconds behind Piastri. After starting on a high in Melbourne, Norris has struggled with his car at times this season and has still driven his way onto the podium in every Grand Prix this year. “Last Lap Lando” has never podiumed in Saudi Arabia, and his best return was seventh in 2022.
Max Verstappen (+1109) Frustration doesn’t begin to explain Max Verstappen’s Bahrain Grand Prix. He endured car challenges, light malfunctions at the pit stop, and a disastrous tire strategy. “Mad Max” had to settle for sixth place, dropping him into third in the Championship. The Kingdom has rewarded Verstappen on his previous four visits, winning twice and never finishing outside the top two. He starts with the best average finishing position at this venue with 1.5.

George Russell (+1243) Mercedes’s top dog, George Russell, continues to deliver outstanding value for money in 2025. The Briton drove onto his third podium in four races last weekend, securing his best performance of the year with a runner-up behind Oscar. Russell is tied with Verstappen for the second-highest average finishing position this campaign, sitting at 3.25, but he has never made the podium here in Saudi Arabia.
Charles Leclerc (+1674) Charles Leclerc has rebounded steadily since his disqualification in Shanghai, recording consecutive fourth-place finishes. The Monegasque driver was ahead of Lando Norris in Sakhir until the 52nd lap, when the MCL got the better of Charles’ SF-25 to boot him off the podium. Despite the consistency, Leclerc will be gutted with the result after starting from second position. Jeddah has proven a happy hunting ground for “Il Predestinato”. He has finished on the podium in two of his previous four starts in Saudi Arabia.
Lewis Hamilton (+1882) Lewis Hamilton earned his maiden Grand Prix top-five of the season in Bahrain. Besides his disqualification in China, the Brit has improved in every race this season. The seven-time World Champion won the inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021, setting the lap record of 1:30.734, which still stands. Lewis is yet to make it back onto the podium since his first visit, but carries an average finishing position at this track of 6.25, heading into this race.
Expert Pick for the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
The McLaren MCL 39 is a class above its competitors this season, and Oscar Piastri knows how to drive it. With three podiums and two wins in the opening races this season, the Australian is an easy expert pick for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Sportsbooks have Piastri at +126 heading into the weekend, potentially paying $45.20 off a $20 bet.

The McLaren duo lead the podium odds heading into Jeddah with seven podiums between them this season, including three wins. Neither driver has finished inside the top three at this circuit, but Piastri finished fourth on his last trip. Norris posted a seventh-place performance in 2022, his best drive in Saudi.
Max Verstappen is the King of the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The Red Bull number one has never finished off the podium at this track, but his current braking and balance problems could change that this weekend.
“Mr. Saturday,” George Russell sits fourth in the Championship after a consistent start to his campaign. The Mercedes driver notched up four consecutive top-fives between Melbourne and Sakhir, including three podiums. He starts after a runner-up finish last weekend, offering outstanding value for a podium finish.

Despite finishing outside the top six in his home Grand Prix, Piastri has won two of his last three starts. The Aussie leads the odds for a top-six finish, closely hunted by Norris, Verstappen, and Russell, who have crossed the line inside the top six in every Grand Prix on the calendar so far.
Charles Leclerc is starting to find consistency in the cockpit, finishing just off the podium at Suzuka and Bahrain. The Ferrari driver lines up at the Red Sea with an average finishing position of 5.33 this year, excluding his disqualification in China. Kimi Antonelli’s record paints a better overall picture, averaging 6.75.

Lando spearheads an exclusive group of four drivers who have crossed the line inside the top 10 in every appearance this season. The Championship leader is joined by Russell, Verstappen and Piastri. Oscar has the record for the worst finish between these drivers, crossing the line in ninth at Albert Park. Piastri is also the only driver to win two Grands Prix in 2025.
Kimi Antonelli and Alexander Albon were part of the top 10 club heading into Bahrain, but they both missed the cut on Sunday. The Ferrari pairing enters Jeddah with six top 10s between them. An unfortunate disqualification after the checkered flag in China tarnishes an otherwise clean record. Lewis and Charles are improving every race, and the Italian outfit earned their first double top-five of the year last weekend.
Pierre Gasly impressed last weekend, earning Alpine their first points of the season. The Frenchman finished seventh, after losing a position to Verstappen on the final lap. Yuki Tsunoda brought home his first dues for Red Bull Racing, earning two points. Haas were the silent heroes of the day. Esteban Ocon lined up in 14th and powered home to grab four points, while Oliver Bearman took the final unit on offer, after starting at the back of the grid.

Red Bull Racing owns three of the last four pole positions at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the last one in 2024, courtesy of their “Golden Boy.“ Despite the dominance of the Austrian team here, “the Papayas” boast three of the four pole positions in 2025, claiming the front row in Australia, China, and Bahrain.
Lando or Oscar have qualified inside the top three grid positions between Albert Park and Sakhir, making McLaren a firm favorite to come out on top at the close of Saturday. The current issues with brakes and balance make it difficult to see Red Bull Racing clocking the fastest lap time in the build-up to Sunday.
Mercedes is the closest challenger on paper, with George Russell starting second in China and third last weekend. Ferrari delivered their qualifying of the season in Bahrain as Charles Leclerc started the Grand Prix in second.

McLaren won in Australia, China, and Bahrain last week, extending their Constructor Championship lead to 58 points. Red Bull Racing are the only other team to triumph on tour this year, making Zak Brown’s chargers the favorites to produce the goods again this weekend.
The Woking-based team has never stood on the podium at this track, but they had never won in Bahrain until last weekend either.
Red Bull has the skill in Max Verstappen to produce the winning car, but their balance issues don’t appear to be abating. The technical issues and the driver’s frustration make it hard to see the Dutchman pulling off the impossible in Jeddah. That leaves Mercedes and Ferrari. The German team have impressed all season with three podiums courtesy of George Russell and could rain on McLaren’s parade. Ferrari is showing improvement, but is yet to look like a team that can challenge the MCL 39.
