Carson Brown's debut
Carson Brown will make his NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series debut this weekend in the HyVee Perks 250 at Iowa Speedway. The 18-year-old from New London, North Carolina, will drive the No. 32 Distributor Wire & Cable Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport, and he arrives with a clear chance to make an immediate mark. Brown is a Richard Childress Racing development driver, and he will be the youngest driver to take the green flag in the series this season.
Brown has already taken another step toward the jump. He completed acclimation laps in the car at North Wilkesboro, giving him track time in the same equipment he will race at Iowa. Brown called the O'Reilly Series "the right step" and said he is ready for the opportunity. Brown's ARCA prep
Brown will use the ARCA Menards Series race at Iowa Speedway as preparation for his O'Reilly debut. He will drive the No. 28 Chevrolet for Pinnacle Racing Group, giving him another chance to learn the speedway before stepping into the national series race for Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport. Brown said the ARCA race will help him learn Iowa before he moves up, and that approach gives him a practical way to build a plan for the weekend ahead.
His ARCA record already gives him a strong foundation. Brown has one ARCA Menards Series win, six starts, four poles and eight top-three finishes. He also owns a win at Phoenix Raceway, which adds to a résumé that has been efficient and productive over a small sample size. Brown has built his climb through several different levels of stock-car racing.
