Jett Lawrence Wins Unadilla Overall, Reclaims 450SMX Lead

NXTbets Pro | Published On: August 16, 2026

Jett Lawrence wins

Jett Lawrence took the 450 overall at Unadilla with a 2-1 moto score and reclaimed the 450SMX Class points lead in the process. He turned a strong day into the kind of result that changes the title picture, using consistency across both motos to move back to the top. The win also pushed Hunter Lawrence 10 points behind in the championship standings, a margin that keeps the fight tight but gives Jett the advantage after one of the season’s key swing races.

Hunter Lawrence crashes

Hunter Lawrence arrived at Unadilla as the 450 standings leader and looked ready to protect that position when he won the first moto. That opening run gave him the best possible start to the day and kept him in control of the championship lead through the first half of the race program. The second moto changed everything. Hunter crashed, and the result erased the cushion he carried into the event. He said afterward that he was physically OK, which matters in a race as demanding as Unadilla, but the points loss still left him chasing instead of defending.

450SMX points shift

The way the lead changed hands mattered as much as the result itself. Jett said he did not want to inherit the red plate in that way, a sign that the win came with a mixed edge for the rider who benefitted most from it. He earned the overall on speed and execution, but the turn at the top of the standings came after Hunter’s crash, not a direct head-to-head finish that settled everything cleanly. That leaves the 450SMX title race with a clear new leader in Jett and a response coming from Hunter, who remains close enough to keep the pressure on after his first-moto win and his rough second moto at Unadilla.
