Dylan Ferrandis said this weekend’s SuperMotocross Playoff finale at Thunder Ridge will be his final professional race, closing a career that took him from Europe to the top level of American motocross. The Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team rider said he will retire from motocross after the finale and step away from professional racing when the gate drops one last time. Ferrandis said he has been riding since age 3 and wants to finish on a high note with his team. Entering the finale, Ferrandis sat seventh in 450SMX points and will make one last 450 start before moving into retirement. The announcement gives a clear finish to a run that began in the FIM World Motocross Championship in Europe and carried into the American series, where he became a contender in both supercross and motocross.

Ferrandis leaves with a championship record that spans both disciplines. He won the 2019 and 2020 250SX titles, the 2020 250 Pro Motocross championship and the 2021 450 Pro Motocross title. He also won a 250MX championship and a 450MX title, and his 2021 run stood out because he won the 450MX championship with six overall victories and podium finishes in all 12 nationals. That season gave Star Racing its first premier-class title. Across his career, Ferrandis earned 15 wins and two Rookie of the Year awards. He also entered the finale with 30 250SX podiums, six 250SX wins and two 450SX podiums. Those results stretch from his early supercross success into his years in the premier class, where he stayed in the mix long after moving up.

Ferrandis has spent 2026 leading Ducati’s new factory program, a role that gives his final race another layer of context. He moved to the United States in 2017 after beginning his professional career in the FIM World Motocross Championship in Europe, and that move set up the championship runs that followed. He will make his final 450 start with 21 premier-class podiums and six pole positions. An injury in 2022 interrupted his title defense. The finale at Thunder Ridge closes a path that started when he was 3, crossed from Europe to the United States and has included titles in the 250SX, 250 Pro Motocross and 450 Pro Motocross ranks. It also gives him one last run with the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing Team. Ferrandis leaves the sport with a career that kept him relevant in both supercross and motocross for years.
