WMX title decider pits Turner against Cannon at Ironman

NXTbets Pro | Published On: August 26, 2026

WMX title showdown

The WMX championship goes to the final race this weekend at Ironman Raceway in Indiana, where Lachlan Turner and Charli Cannon will meet in a title showdown for the 2026 crown. Turner rides for Altus Motorsports bLUcRU Yamaha and enters as the reigning back-to-back WMX series champion. Cannon races for Quad Lock Honda. Their battle sits at the center of the U.S. Army Ironman National Finals Presented by Tucker Freight Lines, the event that will close the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship and the Monster Energy SMX World Championship regular season.

The finals will crown the 450SMX, 250SMX and WMX champions for the first time, which gives the weekend a rare clean finish across all three classes. The championship fights at Ironman are being described as three close title fights, and the women’s class brings one of the most direct matchups of the event. Turner and Cannon will race again to decide the 2026 WMX champion, with the first WMX moto set to stream exclusively on SMX Friday Live Presented by Honda on the SuperMotocross YouTube channel and the deciding race set for Peacock.

450SMX brothers

The 450SMX title will come down to brothers Hunter Lawrence and Jett Lawrence in a winner-take-all battle for the Edison Dye Cup. They have split wins during the summer, and that has kept the class tight all the way to the final stop at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville, Indiana, near Indianapolis. The matchup gives the 450SMX field a straight championship finish at the same venue that wraps up the Pro Motocross schedule and the SMX regular season.

The 450SMX showdown adds another layer to a finale that already carries title stakes in every corner of the program. Ironman will host the last round of the season, and the race card will settle the championship with one final run through a year that has tested both Lawrence brothers. The result will decide which sibling leaves with the Edison Dye Cup and the 450SMX title, and it will do so as part of a weekend built around three title fights rather than one.

250SMX season wrap

Cole Davies takes a 14-point lead over Levi Kitchen into the 250SMX finale, giving the class its own live championship thread at Ironman. That margin puts Davies in front, but the race still matters as the final stop of a season that has stretched across Pro Motocross, Supercross and the Monster Energy SMX World Championship regular season. The 250SMX fight joins the 450SMX and WMX battles in giving the Ironman National Finals a full title-card feel.

MX Sports Pro Racing president Davey Coombs called the season “historic” and said it has “exceeded expectations.” He said the series featured strong racing and fan support throughout the summer and said the finale at Ironman will cap a banner year for Pro Motocross, Supercross and the SMX World Championship. The U.S. Army will also debut as a title partner at the Ironman National Finals, adding another new element to a season-ending event that will crown champions in all three classes for the first time.
