FedEx Freight Nears NASCAR Truck Series Title Sponsorship Deal

NXTbets Pro | Published On: August 26, 2026

NASCAR freight deal

NASCAR is close to finalizing a new Truck Series title sponsorship deal that would replace Craftsman and begin in 2027. No agreement has been signed yet, but the deal is said to be nearing completion in the next few weeks. FedEx Freight is the company most consistently linked to the opening, and the package is said to be worth in the low eight figures annually. The series sits as the third step on NASCAR’s ladder, which gives the title sponsor a visible place in the sport’s development system and across race weekends. NASCAR has not commented on the reported talks, and FedEx Freight told SBJ it does not have any current sports marketing sponsorship agreements. Even so, the company has emerged as the leading candidate in a process that has drawn steady attention because the Truck Series title has become one of the more prominent open sponsorship positions in stock car racing.

Craftsman title history

Craftsman returned as the Truck Series title sponsor in 2023 after previously holding the role from 1996 to 2008. A new agreement would close that short return and send the series into another change at the top of its commercial structure. NASCAR has previously sought about $5 million annually for the Truck Series entitlement, a figure that shows how the league has valued the property. If FedEx Freight completes the deal, it would become the fourth different title sponsor name for the series. That would add another chapter to a category that has already changed hands several times and has helped shape the identity of the Trucks as NASCAR has pushed to keep the series commercially relevant. The title sponsor has long carried more than just branding value. It also signals the level of investment a company is willing to make in one of the sport’s most visible national championships.

FedEx Freight terms

The reported structure of the FedEx Freight package goes beyond a simple naming-rights arrangement. The deal is said to include purse payouts, rights fees, activation and media buys, which would make it a broad sponsorship commitment rather than a narrow logo placement. That kind of package matches the scale of a national series title partnership and gives the sponsor multiple ways to reach teams, fans and race audiences. FedEx Freight became a separate public company in June after being spun off, a move that gives the business a new profile as it weighs its marketing footprint. If the agreement is finalized, the timing would put the company into NASCAR’s Truck Series in 2027, with the title line changing from Craftsman after the current run. The series would then move into a new commercial era with a sponsor that has already become the name most tied to the opening, even before any contract is signed.
