Logan Schuchart wins late at Jackson after passing Haudenschild

Schuchart wins late

Logan Schuchart of Shark Racing put together the run that mattered most in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car feature at Jackson Motorplex, winning a 30-lap race after a late pass of Sheldon Haudenschild. Schuchart started on the front row and stayed close enough to keep the pressure on the leaders through the middle stages. Haudenschild grabbed the lead on Lap 18 and looked in control for a stretch, but Schuchart kept himself in striking range and made his move on Lap 26, with three laps left. That pass put Schuchart back in front at the decisive moment and gave him another win at one of the tracks where he has had his best results. The finish also fit the way the race unfolded, with the front row pace setting the tone and the lead changing hands only when the laps started to run out. Schuchart did the rest from there, closing out the feature and adding another victory to a season that has already produced multiple wins.

Haudenschild stays second

Haudenschild had the strongest answer through the middle of the race and held the lead long enough to make Schuchart work for it. Once he moved to the front on Lap 18, he controlled the pace for several laps before Schuchart’s late surge flipped the order. Haudenschild settled for second at the checkered flag, a result that still showed he had the speed to contend from the moment the race got rolling. Carson Macedo took third, giving the podium a familiar look with three of the sport’s top names at the front of the field. Donny Schatz finished fourth, Emerson Axsom was fifth, Michael Kofoid placed sixth and David Gravel came home seventh. The finishing order reflected a race that tightened as the laps fell away, with Schuchart and Haudenschild pulling clear of the rest of the group. Macedo, Schatz, Axsom, Kofoid and Gravel filled out the top seven and kept the pressure on throughout the feature, but none could reach the lead battle once Schuchart took command late.

Schuchart reaches 47

The victory gave Schuchart his third win of the season and the 47th of his career, two markers that underline how often he has been in position to close races at this level. His record at Jackson Motorplex stands out even more after this result. The win was his fifth at the track, and that total tied Eldora Speedway for the winningest venue on his résumé. That kind of track success matters in a series built on consistency and speed at different venues, and Schuchart has now shown he can deliver at Jackson year after year. A 30-lap feature can turn quickly once the leaders start to crowd one another, and Schuchart used that pressure to his advantage. He stayed patient while Haudenschild led, waited for the right opening and made the move when the race reached its final stage. The finish added another clean result to Schuchart’s body of work and left him with another line on a résumé that keeps growing with each trip to victory lane.
