Haudenschild wins

Sheldon Haudenschild won the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature at Mansfield Speedway on Friday night and delivered a home-state victory. The Ohio native said the race meant a lot to him, and the result gave the event a local connection as the World of Outlaws returned to Mansfield for the first time in 45 years. The event drew the biggest crowd in Mansfield Speedway history. The feature also served as Round 2 of the Buckeye Brawl.

Mansfield return

The race itself developed with Nate Dussel setting the early pace after starting on the front row with Emerson Axsom. Haudenschild worked through the field and took control on Lap 18 when he passed Dussel for the top spot. From there, he faced a late challenge from Donny Schatz and held him off to close out the win. Schatz finished second, with Carson Macedo third, David Gravel fourth and Axsom fifth. The finishing order gave the night a clear top end.

Season milestone

The victory marked Haudenschild’s 10th of the 2026 season and his first career double-digit win season. The Mansfield win was the 56th of his career. It also pushed him to within two wins of tying Jason Meyers for 17th on the all-time World of Outlaws win list. Haudenschild left Mansfield with a home-state triumph, a season milestone and a career marker in one result. The night brought together the return of a historic venue, the biggest crowd in track history and a win that added to his standing in the series. For Haudenschild, the performance delivered on the moment. For Mansfield, it brought the World of Outlaws back, ending with an Ohio driver taking the checkered flag.
