A festival of motorsport awaits as we enter the first weekend of May. The Formula 1 roadshow returns to Miami for the fourth consecutive year, with Lando Norris looking to retain his crown. Supercross enters the Rocky Mountains for its penultimate leg of the campaign, while World of Outlaws late models and sprint cars take on the Midwest. HLR is back for the first time since March, and co-founder Kyle Larson takes to the dirt to give Brad Sweet a run for his money. SLS starts its 2025 journey towards the Super Crown as the best skaters take on Miami Beach. Here is the rundown of the betting events over the weekend of May 2nd.
Formula 1 racing accelerates into the United States when the tour takes on Miami for the fourth time. The second sprint race of the season hits the track on Saturday afternoon, as Lewis Hamilton looks to win his second short feature of the year. Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are the only drivers on the F1 grid who have navigated to victory at the Miami International Autodrome. Verstappen took the top honors in the first two editions of the race.
Verstappen enters the race with the best average finishing position at this venue with 1.33. At the same time, Norris triumphed on his last visit, after starting in fifth on the grid. The Brit is back in town to retain his title, despite sitting behind his teammate, Oscar Piastri, in the Drivers Standings. The Drivers Championship leader has never finished inside the top 10 at this venue, but he had never podiumed in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, or China, and now is an F1 Grand Prix winner at those venues.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc has enjoyed his visits to Southern Florida, snatching two podiums in three races, including third place behind Norris last year. Mercedes is the only “Big Four” team to have never podiumed at this venue. George Russell came close in 2023, crossing the line in fourth.

AMA Supercross Round 16: Denver
When: Saturday, May 3, 2025 Where: Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO Where to Watch: Live on Peacock Where to Bet: With our Partnered Sportsbooks
Supercross riders descend on the Rocky Mountains for the penultimate round of racing in 2025. Cooper Webb rides into town as the Championship leader, after equalling Chase Sexton as the winningest rider of the campaign last weekend on the East Coast. The last time the gates dropped in Denver, Jett Lawrence rode to victory ahead of his brother Hunter, with Jason Anderson slotting into third. None of these riders will make the trip to Colorado as they nurse themselves back to health on the sidelines.
The series leader, Webb, starts with 11 podiums under the bike in his last 12 starts, winning five times. His worst performance since the Glendale Triple Crown was a fourth at Birmingham, otherwise, it’s been all podiums for the Yamaha rider. Sexton starts as Webb’s nearest challenger in the Championship, only 12 points shy, but the consistency of the series leader has made it difficult for him to take the lead.
Ken Roczen greeted the stewards outside of the top 5 for the fourth time this season, last weekend in Pittsburgh. His seven podiums are good enough to give sole third place in the Championship, 54 points behind Cooper.
Key Times (MT): Practice: 10:00 a.m. Qualifying: 11:00 a.m. Main Event: 5:00 p.m.
MotoAmerica takes to the track for the fourth event on the calendar as racers tackle the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Josh Herrin is back to attempt to replicate his success in race two at this track last year, when he took the checkered flag ahead of Bobby Fong and JD Beach. South African Cameron Petersen switches to the Supersport class after winning the first Superbike race in Atlanta last season.
Another South African, Mathew Scholtz, takes to the Michelin Raceway Road as the Supersport Championship leader, but he has unfinished business at this circuit. He finished runner-up in both starts in 2024 and is desperate to ride his way to victory this time around. PJ Jacobsen and Tyler Scott won the first and second Supersport races last time out, and the duo is back on the track for this trip.
King of the Baggers’ top performers, Kyle Wyman and Troy Herfoss, are back to dominate the event they controlled last time. Herfoss took the top spot on the podium in the first race, followed by Wyman, while the duo traded places in the second start. We anticipate more of the same from the title contenders this weekend.
Schedule: TBD
USAC: Eldora Speedway
When: May 2–3, 2025 Where: Eldora Speedway, Rossburg, OH Where to Watch: Live on FloRacing Where to Bet: With our Partnered Sportsbooks
The AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship returns to racing at the Eldora Speedway after nearly a month of downtime. Kyle Cummins lines up as the series leader with a 10-point lead over Justin Grant. Daison Pursley starts the weekend in third, despite tying with Cummins for the most podiums in this campaign.
Grant starts fresh off a victory in the previous round at Lawrenceburg Speedway, his second of the season. The Californian has only crossed the line outside of the top five once in eight races this series, highlighting his consistency throughout. His worst return is a sixth place, which came in the second race at Volusia Speedway Park in February.
After earning six consecutive podiums in the Championship, Daison Pursley faltered in his last two starts. The Okie took the checkered flag on the fourth day at Ocala, but has recorded a 13th and ninth-place finish since. His slip-up has left him in third in the standings, but he remains a threat every time he lines up.

World of Outlaws Late Models pull into Fountain City this weekend for the annual Dairyland Showdown. Series leader Bobby Pierce starts as a previous winner on this track, taking the checkered first race of 2022. Pierce holds an 82-point cushion over Nick Hoffman in the 2025 Driver Points race, with three wins under the hood now.
Hoffman maneuvered his way to victory in the first race at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway last year, while Ryan Gustin crossed the line ahead of the field in the second race in 2024. Brandon Sheppard, Jonathan Davenport, and Mike Marlar are all past winners of the Dairyland Showdown, but topping Pierce this weekend will prove a challenge.

Haudenschild took top honors at this track in 2021 and repeated the feat on his last visit.
David Gravel continues to lead the 2025 series after securing his 16th top five of the campaign in Haubstadt. Gravel joined Haudenschild in Victory Lane on his last trip, winning the second feature race of the weekend. Logan Schuchart, Rico Abreu, Brent Marks, and Donny Schatz have all triumphed in the #Letsracetwo showdown.

It all starts on Wednesday, April 30th, when the Texarkana 67 Speedway welcomes the series for its maiden showing.
Sweet leads the series by 47 points from Tyler Courtney, who has podiumed in his last two starts. Despite their dominance, it’s Kyle Larson who hogs the headlines and graces the field with his presence for the first time since taking first place at Thunderbowl Raceway in the middle of March. Rico Abreu lines up after a successful couple of weeks in other Sprint Car Championships that included a pair of wins at Knoxville.
