Her consistency on the opening weekend of the race has elevated her to a six-second cushion over Mauritian Kim Le Court Pienaar and 12 seconds ahead of local Pauline Ferrand Prevot.

Switzerland has claimed the early lead in the Queen of the Mountains classification, courtesy of Elise Chabbey. The FDJ-Suez rider bagged the polka dots on the first day of the Tour, and extended her tally to 10 points on stage two. The Swiss rider went pointless on day three, but still leads the classification by four points ahead of Dutch rider Silke Smulders. Four riders sit on two points, led by the Spaniard, Mavi Garcia Canellas.
