Mathieu van der Poel will don the leader’s jersey for the third consecutive stage on Wednesday, and he fought hard to cross the line just behind the stage winner Tadej Pogačar. “Pogi” is breathing down van der Poel’s neck, and tomorrow’s stage may see some changes in the General Classification.
King of the Mountains
Pogačar snatched the final KOM points on the stage to go level with his teammate Tim Wellens on five. However, the reigning Tour Champion will wear the polka dots on Wednesday in the first time trial of this edition.
Points Classification (Green Jersey)
The points classification standings remain unchanged, but leader Jonathan Milan did manage to increase his lead over Biniam Girmay by a single unit.
Youth Classification
Oscar Onley shot up the youth classification after stage four to claim second spot in the classification behind Kévin Vauquelin. The gap is now down to 29 seconds, but the leader will wear the white jersey for a third consecutive day on Wednesday.
