David Gravel wins record $300K Huset’s Nationals finale

Gravel's Record Win

David Gravel turned a pole-start opportunity into a record payday at Huset’s Speedway, winning the $300,000-to-win BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals finale in Brandon, South Dakota. The Big Game Motorsports driver used a heat-race win and the King of the Hill format to reach the front row, then led all 40 laps of the feature. He survived a restart and held off Tyler Courtney to secure the victory, which gave Big Game Motorsports a much-needed breakthrough after a 12-race winless stretch.

The win carried extra weight because it was the largest payday in World of Outlaws history and the biggest prize ever awarded for a World of Outlaws sprint car race at Huset’s Speedway. Gravel collected his sixth win of the season and the 126th World of Outlaws victory of his career. He controlled the race from the start and delivered when the pressure rose late, closing out a feature that lined up with the kind of precision his team needed. The result matched performance with reward, and Gravel walked away with both the win and a place in the series record book.

Courtney's Run

Tyler Courtney came closest to challenging Gravel, and he left with a strong check and a missed chance at the night’s top prize. Courtney finished second and earned $50,000, but he fell one position short of the $100,000 High Bank Bounty and a potential $400,000 payout. That one spot shaped the final outcome of the event and kept the bonus money out of reach. Courtney stayed in the fight through the restart, but Gravel kept the lead and made the final stretch count.

Donny Schatz finished third and earned $25,000. Giovanni Scelzi and Buddy Kofoid completed the top five. The podium and top-five finishers gave the finale a high-end field at the front, but Gravel set the pace once he won the pole and never gave the lead away. Courtney’s second-place run showed enough speed to remain in contention, yet the race still belonged to Gravel once the green flag dropped for the feature.

Huset's Finale

The Huset’s Nationals finale delivered a clear winner and a record-setting payout, and Gravel made the most of the opportunity by combining speed in the preliminaries with control in the feature. He won the heat, advanced through King of the Hill and then handled the race from the front. That path mattered. It put him where he needed to be when the 40-lap feature turned into a battle for the biggest prize in the event’s history. Once he reached the lead, Gravel kept his line and preserved it through the restart that could have changed the outcome.

For Big Game Motorsports, the victory offered more than one trophy. It stopped a winless stretch that had reached 12 races and gave the team a result it could build on. For Gravel, it added another milestone to a strong season and pushed his World of Outlaws total to 126 career wins. The numbers framed the night, but the performance defined it. Gravel earned the pole, led the distance and finished the job in front of a field that included Courtney, Schatz, Scelzi and Kofoid.
