Before his BKFC debut on June 21, Cameron Delano said he was going to “no doubt” knock out Jesse Desrosier, and boy did he deliver. The former PBR rider dropped his opponent in the third round for a dream debut inside the squared circle.

“I ain’t gonna lie, the nerves were there a little bit because it’s something new,” he said. “It’s nothing like I dove into before. But as far as the big stage, the big lights, all of that, I felt comfortable. I felt at home.
“I got in that first round, and he caught me early. I didn’t even see it, I just saw my head go sideways. I had to calm myself down because that made me mad, and then I had to play a little smart after that. That’s when I started picking him apart.”
Bryce Hall The Next Target
Moments after his first victory, Delano wasted little time lining up his next target. He asked Bryce Hall, who attended the fight, for a faceoff in the ring after Delano called out Hall in the spring.
“It’s funny because we got in the ring at the end of it, he said, ‘I thought you were bigger,’ ” Delano said. “The video that got posted on social media a couple of months back, his comment was, ‘You look big, my guy, but the bigger you are, the harder they fall. I’m down for that.’ When he saw me, I think it kind of threw him off.” Delano did not mince words when discussing the idea of fighting Hall, who has a 1-0 record in BKFC.
“Mentally, I think I’m stronger than him and I think I got more grit than he does,” he said. “Unless he knocks me out, which I don’t see happening, I’m going to take his head off.”
There’s no date set for a fight between the two and in the meantime, Delano plans to train like a fighter compared to when he cut over 20 pounds for his debut in the squared circle as he transitioned from Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to BKFC.
Preparing For Life as a BKFC Fighter
“Even though I was in decent shape for my debut bout, I can be in way better shape,” he said. “I wasn’t as cut as I wanted to be, I wasn’t as strong as I wanted to be, and that was mainly because I stopped working out completely. I was bulking up before BKFC. I was 205 pounds, and they told me to stop lifting weights because I was too big and I was too slow. For this fight now, I can get strong, I can get cut.
“Now I can condition myself and get strong, which means I’m going to be even better for my next battle, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if I fight Bryce Hall or some other fighter. We’re going to train the same. We’re going to train like we’re fighting a champion.”
Confidence: The Not So Secret Ingredient
Despite the showmanship and bravado that Delano has shown in his young career with BKFC, his motivation remains internal.
“I feel like once I get on my high horse, I stay on my horse,” Delano said. “Not in a cocky way, in a confident way. I’ve been humbled 100 times in my life. God humbles me when I get too big a head every single time. This fight gave me a big confidence booster, like I can go out there and beat anyone. I do feel like anybody they put on the other side of that squared circle, whether it is Mike Perry or anybody else, I know the grit I have, and I know I’m not going out without a bang. I’m going to make sure you know me by the end of that match.”
“My biggest enemy is myself. As long as I stay confident and I stay fight ready, then I feel like I’m going to be pretty much unstoppable.”
