Haudenschild wins
Sheldon Haudenschild won the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature at Ogilvie Raceway after rain pushed the race back about three hours. The Big O Showdown presented by Wagamon Brothers Feature finally got rolling again after the delay, and Haudenschild took control when the action resumed. He worked his way past Garet Williamson, then used a crossover move out of Turn 4 to settle the race in his favor. Haudenschild then survived the final push from Carson Macedo to close out the victory. It was Haudenschild’s eighth win of the season, another solid result in a year that has kept him near the front in World of Outlaws competition. The win also gave him another strong finish in a race that asked drivers to stay patient through a long interruption before they could fight for the checkered flag.
Williamson leads
Garet Williamson set the early pace and led the first 10 laps before Haudenschild slipped by. Williamson’s run put him in position to challenge for a breakthrough win, but the lead did not hold once the race resumed its rhythm. Even so, he still left Ogilvie Raceway with a third-place finish and another performance that showed he can stay in the mix with the series’ top drivers. Williamson is still chasing his first World of Outlaws Series win, and this race added another near miss to his season. His early laps at the front gave the feature a different shape before Haudenschild’s late move changed the order. Williamson’s ability to lead the opening stretch and remain in the top three also kept him in the conversation through a race that tested drivers’ focus after the weather delay and the restart. The result gave him a strong showing in a race where track position mattered all night.
Macedo finishes second
Carson Macedo finished second in the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 and pushed Haudenschild to the finish. The runner-up result was Macedo’s best finish since he won at Angell Park Speedway in June, a sign that he is again putting himself in position to contend at the front. He stayed close enough to pressure Haudenschild after the pass for the lead, but he could not find a way back around before the checkered flag. Bill Balog and Logan Schuchart completed the top five, giving the feature a familiar World of Outlaws look near the front. The finishing order showed how quickly the lead changed hands once the race got back underway, with Haudenschild, Macedo and Williamson each spending time in the spotlight. For Macedo, the second-place run stands out because it came against a strong field and followed a stretch that had ended with his win in June.
