Cummins wins again
Kyle Cummins led all 30 laps and won the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship feature at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Michigan, on Saturday, giving him a second straight victory at the track. The result marked his sixth USAC National Sprint Car Series win of the 2026 season and the 36th series victory of his career. It also moved Cummins up to 14th on the USAC National Sprint Car Series all-time wins list, a jump that reflects how steady his season has been at the front of the field. The win came with full control from start to finish. Cummins never gave up the lead and collected the K&N Clean Air Award for pacing every lap. That kind of clean run carried more value than the margin alone. It kept the pressure on the rest of the title contenders and added another strong result to a season that has already put him in position to chase more history. Butler has become a good place for him. One week after winning there, he backed it up with another complete performance and left with another boost in the standings.
Butler race unfolds
The night had its interruptions, but Cummins handled every restart and kept the front of the field in order. The feature was slowed on lap 2 after Keith Sheffer II flipped, a caution that forced the drivers to reset early in the run. That stop did not change the shape of the race at the front. Cummins stayed composed and kept the pace once the green came back out. Chase Stockon finished second, with Mitchel Moles third, Briggs Danner fourth and Robert Ballou fifth. C.J. Leary, who started from the pole, finished sixth, while Justin Grant took seventh. Grant also set fast time in qualifying with a 14.872-second lap, a strong early marker that did not carry into the feature result. The event also had another hard hit before the main race, when Jason Ferguson flipped during qualifying. Hayden Reinbold made the most of the feature by charging from 22nd to 13th and earning hard-charger honors. The result sheet showed a clean top end for Cummins and a strong chase pack behind him, but the interruptions made the night a little less straightforward than the final running order might suggest. Still, once the field settled in, Cummins controlled the race and left no opening for the drivers behind him.
Points lead grows
The victory also stretched Cummins’ points lead over Moles, a useful gain in a season where every strong finish matters. He has built momentum with results that carry both immediate and long-term value. The sixth win of the year keeps him in reach of bigger numbers, and the move to 36 career series victories adds more weight to what he is building. He is now 14th on the USAC National Sprint Car Series all-time wins list, a spot that underlines how far he has climbed. Moles’ third-place finish kept him near the top of the standings, but Cummins left Butler with the cleaner night and the bigger reward. The series does not slow down for long. It is scheduled to race Friday and Saturday at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana. That gives the field a quick turnaround and another chance for the leaders to sort out the points battle. Cummins goes there with another Butler win in hand, another trophy on the shelf and another stretch of the season where he has shown he can set the pace from the opening lap to the finish.
