Tanner Holmes victory
Tanner Holmes won the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing A Feature at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa, on Thursday. The 30-lap sprint car main event was round eight of the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series. Holmes drove Buch Motorsports’ No. 13 car to his first Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing victory, and he celebrated his 23rd birthday with the trophy. Holmes started the feature in fifth and moved forward in stages, passing Tanner Thorson on Lap 10 and taking the lead from Brent Marks on Lap 12 of 30. Marks had led the opening 11 laps before Holmes seized control. Holmes handled the final circuits through multiple restarts and heavy traffic to seal the win by 1.106 seconds.
Buch Motorsports milestone
Buch Motorsports’ No. 13 entry registered its fourth series victory, becoming the first team in Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing history to win with three different drivers. The team has now combined its equipment and setup with multiple drivers to reach the top step in the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series. Holmes’ drive added a new name to that list, and his performance from fifth to the win underscored the strength of the No. 13 entry across changing race conditions. The result underlined the team’s consistency in the series and gave Buch Motorsports a landmark achievement in the High Limit Racing competition.
Race finishers and key moves
Brent Marks held the early advantage, leading the initial laps before finishing second. Tyler Courtney climbed from 14th to finish third and earned hard charger honors for the biggest move through the field. Kerry Madsen finished fourth and Kyle Larson took fifth. Tanner Thorson won the dash, setting up a strong starting spot earlier in the program. Sam Henderson won the B Main to advance into the feature field. The race mixed short-run speed and late-race restarts, and Holmes’ timely passes and clean work through traffic decided the A Feature outcome.
