Rain Cancels USAC Friday Sprint Race at Millstream

USAC Friday Sprint Race at Millstream Canceled by Rain

NXTbets Pro | Published On: June 26, 2026

Millstream cancellation

USAC’s planned opening round at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio, came off the weekend schedule after heavy overnight rain and forecast showers left the facility unsafe. The cancellation cut short the first half of a rare back-to-back weekend for the AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship, a setup that paired Ohio and Michigan races in one trip. USAC said the conditions made it impossible to proceed safely or as planned at Millstream, and the change applied only to the Millstream portion of the series program. The rest of the racing card was still in line to continue as scheduled, but the sprint car field lost the chance to run one of the two nights that had helped make the weekend stand out. The doubleheader also carried added weight because it was set to be the first Millstream and Butler Motor Speedway pairing in 54 years, a long gap that made the two-track swing a rare one for the series and for the fans who had circled both stops. Millstream’s place on the calendar had created an early test for the national championship field, and the weather ended that test before the cars could take the track.

Butler return

USAC’s attention shifted to Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Michigan, where the national sprint car series was still scheduled to resume its weekend on the following night. Butler had already been set as the second stop of the swing, and the cancellation at Millstream left that race as the lone sprint car feature in the back-to-back set. Both events were set for live coverage on FloRacing, giving the series a streaming platform for the full weekend even as the first half disappeared from the schedule. The Butler date also came with familiar recent history attached. Kyle Cummins won at both Millstream and Butler in 2025, so the Michigan race carried clear momentum value for him and for the teams trying to chase him. Mitchel Moles also enters the weekend with a strong Butler connection, since he owns the one-lap track records at both Millstream and Butler. That gives the second round extra edge even with the opening night gone. The move to Butler keeps the focus on a track that has already produced a strong reference point for several drivers in the series, and it preserves at least one night of the intended two-track run for the national sprint car field.

Championship chase

The title race still centers on Cummins, who leads the standings by 87 points, and that margin shapes the rest of the championship picture as the series heads toward Butler. Cummins has already shown he can win at both tracks involved in the weekend, and that makes him the driver everyone else is trying to catch as the schedule continues. Briggs Danner also stays in the conversation with four series wins this season, a total that keeps him among the top form drivers in the national championship field. Justin Grant adds another storyline because he is pursuing his 100th career USAC national victory, a mark that gives his every start added significance as the season moves forward. Hayden Reinbold brings recent Butler form into the mix as well, after finishing third there last year. Those pieces give the weekend its competitive frame even after weather cut into the original plan. One round disappeared, but the championship battle, the track history and the live-stream spotlight all remain intact for Butler. The series still carries the feel of a significant stop, with a championship leader trying to hold serve, a pair of track records already on the books and a group of top drivers looking for points, wins and milestones on a circuit that has delivered them before.
